I bought a new computer a couple of months ago, and asked a tech to transfer all the data files (had a list) from my old computer to my new one. I also just today upgraded from Pasword Lite to the full version.

I have two items which look like Password things on my new computer's desktop.

One is a notebook text page which looks like this:
$qNthq5ճb5R!!󻚅 n` ^\0INyUj{Gѯ^Fz0J$:.YC/%T=B-a3 _(/nl

The other is named Password.dat
(followed by a "tilde" / Can't find the symbol on my new

However, when I click on Password.dat [tilde], a pop up window says Windows can't open it.
When I try to open it ("Open file") from within Password, I receive an pop up error window which says
"Reading file failed. Unknown file structure. This file is not a Password Agent file or it is badly damaged."

When I try File / Import "Password.da [tilde]" a window opens
Import CSV
. Comma . Tab .Simicolon .Other [I don't understand this.]
Text qualifier
" [inside a blue box] [Don't understand.]
Using your settings the following data was found
[I tried to Copy the first line, but upon right clicking on the line,
Copy wasn't an option. The line was full of odd symbols.]

There was also a message about mapping columns that I don't understand.

Oh, if only I had copied from my old computer to a disk using Password's system! Instead of relying on a tech!

Any suggestions?

Password Agent file has extension .pwa and by default it was in your My Documents folder, unless you saved to another location. Perhaps the tech transferred your old My Documents folder and if so, it should be somewhere there.

If you old coputer is still around, you can try finding the file from there.

I have instructions about moving data file to another computer here.
