I'm a new registered user on Font Xplorer. I've started to get the following message dialog from Font Xplorer:

C:\system volume information is not accessible

Access is denied.

I'm running Windows 2000 SP3 all the latest patches, etc. Using 1.2 g Athlon, 512mb, two disks both 80 gb in various partitions.

Any thoughts?

"You'll see this message when trying to browse the specified folder"

Actually, you do not need to be trying to browse to the folder at all. Font Xplorer can be minimized, doing absolutely nothing at all (or so it seems) while I am working in another program, and it will pop up with this message at random.

Which begs the question: what is Font Xplorer secretly doing when it is supposedly sitting idle? Does it periodically rescan to update the font/folders listing? And if so can you include an option to turn it off in the next version (which btw is overdue according to your previous post :P)

BTW...i think, but am not certain, that this only appears when the folder browser pane is showing

I just stumbled over this message. There is a workaround for the problem: the messages won't pop up if you make these folders accessible. Take a look at

And the next version will be when?

I'm aware of this problem. You'll see this message when trying to browse the specified folder. Windows Explorer acts the same way. This problem will be fixed in next version.
