On the fly search. In other words, as I type the list of available results should be reduced.

ie you have 4 items in password agent names aaa, aab, abc, bcd.

When you type in a to the search field, the results shrink to just aaa, aab, abc. When you type in another a to make the search aa, the list should shrink to aaa, aab.

The cursor should be placed in the search field by default when opening password agent.

The second thing I would like is a way to set a default expiration. So when an item is created, it is automatically set to expire in x days. Secondly, expired items should be a different color in the list. Maybe red?

You have strange problems so either I don't understand you properly, you have very old version 1 of Password Agent instead of current version 2 or you have some other program that is not Password Agent.

Isn't this how QuickSearch box current works?

Press Ctrl+Q to set focus to QuickSearch box and start typing.

Yes, this is how it works when you select Highlight Expired Entries command from View menu or press Ctrl+X. You can change expired and expire warning colors under program options.
