Please consider releasing your source code for Multimedia Xplorer to SourceForge ( in order that another software developer(s) might pick it up as an open source project and update this excellent image utility.

I have never found another dedicated image viewer that meets the unique specifications of Multimedia Xplorer in terms of combining ease of use, without integrating an image editor. The batch renaming function has never been matched, outside of dedicated file renaming applications which are usually written for MP3 files, not images. The file tagging feature was unique at the time, and remains one of the better implementations of selecting particular files for particular operations.

For native viewing of image files, almost nothing beats Multimedia Xplorer to this day. That is noteworthy, considering that multiple new operating systems have been released since 2003.

Releasing it to the world, would be a very fine thing.

Hello jwcarp!

Thanks for reminding MX with good word. Publishing source code is not possible on several reasons (image encoders/decoders were from 3rd party commercial library, some code has been "lost", overall very ugly code as it was one of my first applications etc). So if anyone wants to create something like that it is better to start from scratch -- is was not complicated application.
