I can create a backup group for a directory on the C drive, and it will back up perfectly. However, when I attempt to either open it or backup to it again I get the following message:

The file E:\Backup Magic\Keydraw\Keydraw.bms is not valid file for this application.

The path is simple, the sub-directories straight forward. It is a minor application with its system files contained withint the main directory, but I've excluded them with the Exclude File Masks option.

I have successfully backed up other directories on my C drive, but this one won't.

Any advice appreciated,

Thanks,

Les Brown

This may happen when the backup set file you are trying to open is damaged or partial. There have been one or two similar incidents in the past, where file is not correctly saved to the disk by Backup Magic. Exact reason of this problem is not known, but probably associated with Windows INI file caching.

You can send the problematic files to us for investigation.
